ERC on the heels of En Comú Podem, says poll
  • CA

ERC is closing in on En Comú Podem. According to a poll in ‘El Periódico’, the republicans are hot on the heels of the Podemos coalition, and have closed the gap separating Xavier Domènech from Gabriel Rufián by a third compared with a poll 10 days ago in the same newspaper, carried out by GESOP. En Comú Podem would now achieve between 12 and 14 seats compared with the 13 it won in 20-D, but ERC (which currently has 9) could win as many as 11.

Also according to the poll, CDC has managed to halt its fall, and Francesc Homs would gain between 6 and 7 MPs, compared to the 8 from 20-D. Nevertheless, the overall perspective has changed when compared with the June 10 poll, with ERC and CDC now on 15 to 18 seats between them, compared with the current 17.

For its part, PP, PSC and C’s would remain the same in Catalonia. Meritxell Batet would get between 7 and 8 seats, compared with the 8 won by Carme Chacón in 20-D, and both Juan Carlos Girauta (C’s) and Jorge Fernández Díaz (PP) would maintain the 5 MPs they achieved in December.
